We are having.......

We had our ultrasound yesterday morning and the results were good. Baby looks healthy and is growing right on schedule. Brent was hoping more for a girl, I was hoping more for a boy, the kids were back and forth. (Seemed to be whatever we said we thought the baby was) So the ultrasound tech said "you want to know what sex it is?" "yes" was our answer followed by excitement to finally hear what our last child will be.......... a boy!
We are all pretty excited. Now we have girl, boy, girl, boy. Nice and even. And as Megan stated when we told her she was going to have another little brother "Now we REALLY have to come up with a name!"

So hopefully soon or at least before this baby boy comes we can come up with a name!
I'll post ultrasound pictures soon.

Phrases from a 2 year old

Bed time routine:
get pajamas on
brush teeth
say family prayers
Brent reads Meg and Joseph a story from a chapter book
I read Sarah some books (sometimes Brent does before he reads to the other kids)
time for kids to be tucked in and go to sleep
I sit in Sarah's room in the recliner and wait for her to sleep and when she is asleep the other 2 are most likely asleep so I turn off lamps and go to bed myself

We have been doing this for a long time so they all know the routine....they still like to goof off during the routine though. Last night I was waiting for Sarah to fall asleep. She was not so tired so she wanted to rock with me (the rule is either rock with me and whisper or stay in her bed and lay down)
So I started rocking her, she was whispering all about Woody, Jessi, and Buzz Lightyear....her favorite movies right now, Toy Story. So she whispered and whispered for about 5-10 minutes and finally looks up at me and says "I'm done with those words" I guess she was tired of talking/whispering so much.
I say "are you tired now?"
she whispers "yeah" and was asleep in about 2 minutes.

Most little kids get excited when dads or moms come home. This is so with Sarah. Brent walks in the door the other day and screams, runs around and then goes up to Brent and says "I am so glad your home now!"

I was driving and the kids were getting sick of driving and wanted to get to where we were going. So Sarah says "Move it cars!"

There are always so many cute little phrases that kids say I wish I could bottle them all up and remember them for all the times when they say not so cute things..... (Sarah's new favorite word: stupid)

Fishing....

What I did today:
prepared myself for the day,
cleaned the main living area,
cleaned upstairs (major task- the kids had made a fine mess the past week),
went to Target with 3 kids,
took Megan to a bowling birthday party
came home cleaned some more,
went to pick up Megan,
came home and made dinner,
vacuumed upstairs and downstairs,
now I am sitting here updating this.
It was exhausting cleaning so much, I am getting over a nice head cold. The kids have stayed healthy along with Brent, thank heavens. Tomorrow is another busy sunday with Brent being in another ward and me being by myself. Poor Brent was at church last week from 9:30am-7:30pm, what a long day for him! It won't be so bad tomorrow though.
Brent bought boxing gloves a long time ago for the kids (he used to be a boxer) so Sarah and Joseph are boxing right now! It is pretty cute!
My ultrasound is a week from monday, we are really excited to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I think it would be fun to have another boy, so we could have 2 of each but a nice healthy baby is the goal. We still need a name for a boy, if the baby is a girl she will be Katie.
Any ideas for a boy name???

(I labeled this post fishing because I didn't have a whole lot to post about)

uneventful

Yesterday was uneventful but still interesting:

Sarah wanted held most of the day, while I did laundry, vacuumed, did the dishes, just sitting there playing the Wii with Joseph.......I don't know why.... she was just clingy.

Megan was putting her coat on getting ready for school, Joseph had taken a toy from Sarah and she wanted it back, Sarah said "GIVE IT BACK......1.....2.....3.....4....5....." and continued to count to 10. I think she has listened to me to many times count to the dreaded useless 3 when I want the kids to do something. Megan and I got a good laugh about this before she went to school.

Joseph has a new favorite game to play on the Wii, the only problem is is that I have to play it. He can't figure out how to use the remote like a steering wheel. But he loves watching it.

Megan got home from school and seemed to be in a sour mood. She was getting upset over many things. It doesn't help when Joseph just wants to push her buttons and annoy her. She also has 2 loose teeth that are ready to come out, but gets scared everytime we talk about them coming out. She doesn't remember any of her other 7 teeth hurting when they came out but for some reason thinks these next two will hurt! What do I do? (don't mention the dentist pulling them or there will be tears) She thought she chipped a tooth a few days ago and got soooo upset because she thought we would have to take her to the dentist.

In the morning I took a shower, dressed, bathed Joseph and Sarah and let them play in the tub while I did my makeup all within about 30 minutes. They always like to play and this is always a perfect time to do makeup for me, while they are occupied. Well, I think I am getting a LIttle bit anemic with this pregnancy....I almost passed out putting my makeup on. I was then weak for about the next 2 hours. I haven't been takingy prenatel pills because I think the contributed to the morning sickness. So after just about passing out I took one and then another at bedtime. Hopefully they won't make me sick and I won't really pass out.

Sarah had a hersheys kiss and got chocolate on her hands so she wiped them on her blankeys. Since I was doing laundry she wanted them washed, they needed washed so I didn't have a problem with this but wondered if she would. So when it was time to change the laundry, she wanted her blankets in too. (since she had to be with me constantly yesterday) So I let her put her blankeys in the wash, they were the first things in the wash and once she watched them go into the water, she regretted her decision and then wanted them back out. It was a little to late......So for the next 2 hours she was asking for blankeys. Brent finally took them out of the dryer, with her being carried along, and she was much happier. Next time I will wash them discreetly......

So pretty uneventful but I still felt like yestday was plenty eventful.......How was your day?

Happenings and Happy New Year!

Caution: a little long
Christmas:
Christmas was very enjoyable. We went to Brent's parents on christmas eve, we were able to see family and enjoy a nice evening at his parents house, with some yummy food.
Christmas morning the kids woke up around 7:00am (lucky for us...they went to bed at around 11:00pm) I was not ready to get up so I told them they had to wait. Sarah and I had slept HORRIBLE that night and I was exhausted and poor Sarah was still sound asleep. I made the kids do the normal use the bathroom and wait for us to set up the video camera, I woke Sarah and we headed downstairs to see what Santa brought....

Megan got a sled, Lucky the dog(an interactive dog and responds to its name and does "tricks"), and Webkinz. She got all she asked for and was so excited. She is displaying it on her new sled, except for Lucky, I don't where he was. Probably off tooting somewhere and then says "uh-oh sorry" this is pretty funny to the kids! She also received a game, a video, a much needed hello kitty alarm clock!, and more Webkinz, Thanks Uncle Chad and Bailee and Grandma and Grandpa!!!

Joseph also got a sled, a race track with hot wheels cars, and a scooter. He also got all he wanted. He loved the sled and often pretended he was sledding on the couch. They were also used for boats and beds and whatever else they could think of. He also got a webkinz dino from Megan and a very cool remote control Hummer, a game, cool walking dinosaur, and more Thanks Uncle Chad and Grandma and Grandpa!

Sarah unfortanelty did not get her dinosaur cake she wanted for christmas but she did get a microwave that works with pretend food, a cash register, a camera, and an elmo laptop. She was ecstatic and thoroughly LOVED playing with all of it. I was able to get Megan and Joseph dressed Christmas day but Sarah REFUSED, she did get a bath and was put right back into pajammies (as she calls them)

Mom and dad were pretty boring with gifts this year and they all just received a new outfit from us!

A picture of all of them and cousin Bailee.

The day before Christmas Eve we opened up all the gifts under our tree from all my family out in Utah. The 3 kiddos were Very excited to receive a Wii from Grandma and Grandpa Schow! They also were given clothes and new pajamas. From Uncle Bob and Aunt Robyn and kids, they received stickers and coloring items, I received some awesome recipe books, one of which is a collection of family recipes!!!!! Can't wait to try some of them! Thanks to Everyone. We had a good time!

New years:
Today is New years day and I don't know what the plans are...hopefully just relaxing, like we did the day before that and the day before that and the day before that......:) Brent took all of this week off and doesn't go back until the kids go back to school on monday. I went to the dr. and we all heard the baby's heart beat (150) and everything sounds good. I am 18 weeks and haven't gained a pound! Hopefully that means with this last one I won't gain much! (wishful thinking?)
I took a few pictures of the kids this morning.
Joseph insisted on doing an open mouth shot.....

then Megan did......

then Sarah did......!
If you'll notice the nice big red spot next to Sarah's eye....she fell down our steps for the first time yesterday. :( She usually does really good about going down on her bottom but every now and then she thinks she will be a big girl and walk down the stairs. Fortunately Megan was at the bottom of the stairs and caught her before she landed on the hardwood floor at the bottom, she fell from the 3rd step from the top so she fell all the way down. Her poor face was all red on the left side and then this morning she looked like she had a little black eye. I think she must have scraped her face pretty hard on the carpet, I believe the big red spot is a carpet burn :( She is fine now though!

Just a cute picture

This last picture needs a little explaining. If you have been to our house you know most of the artwork hung on the walls is the kids'. Joseph has learned how to write all our names and with another baby coming we can not come up with a name....we have a girl name but no boy name yet (ultrasound January 26th!!!) So he had been coloring one day and didn't show me what he had done. So I walked into the kitchen and noticed new art work and this was it.....he calls our unborn baby No Name. So NONAM is our baby. I thought this was pretty funny and cute.

So with the new year, many people set new goals and resolutions. This has always driven me crazy. I am not good at the whole goal thing. I like the way a friend put it in her blog of putting new focus on daily things. This is more of the way I think too. So this year....I want to become a better mother and wife, and bring a new healthy baby into our family in may or beginning of june, I want to magnify my calling in primary to be a great president and teach the gospel to the wonderful children in our ward including my own, I want to keep a healthy diet, keep a somewhat more organized house (which has gone downhill the last few months), increase my knowledge and spirit in the gospel and just be an overall better and happier person!

I wish you all a great upcoming new year!!!!
